Happy new year guys! I hope you all had a great Christmas and didn't party too hard on new year's eve - gotta keep you all in one piece, don't we?

I'm quietly optimistic about 2009. There is so much that can happen, so many opportunities, that it's impossible not to be.
So because 2009 is the start of a new beginning for me, another look at my journal design was in order. It's evolved from what I had before, but not completely new. Just the way I like things.

There is one massive reason that this year is going to either make or break me. That nice big project I've been talking about for the last few months is nearly ready to kick off, and the anticipation is killing me! I know that I've got to be patient though, because if this happens too early, it's not going to help in the long run.
There was also a mighty big hint given to me over Christmas - not only did my parents get me a nice diary/planner for this year, but they (more from my Mum though

) also got me not one, two, three, four, five, or even six, but SEVEN new cookbooks. Now if that doesn't tell me I've got to start becoming more domesticated, I don't know what would! I'm expecting to be a qualified master chef by the time this year ends.

Yeah right.

But I'm sure I'll have a few new fancy recipes to fill my stomach with, and as much as I don't really like cooking, I've gotta say that's pretty cool.

The next new thing for me this year is travelling. I'm not talking just visiting somewhere, I mean going to the other side of the world. While I'm kinda nervous because this is the first time I will have been away from home for more than a month, and that it's nowhere near home, but come on, it's too freakin' awesome for words! My first stop is London, then I'm travelling around some of Europe - France, Barcelona, Italy, Corfu, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Amsterdam and finally back to London for four days of wreaking havoc. I'm going for a day trip Liverpool on one of those days, namely to Anfield, but I am SO EXCITED. It sucks to no end that I will have missed the football season, but just to be there is going to be completely satisfying. I mean, I get goose bumps when I watch Liverpool playing at home, imagine how I'd be if I was actually seeing them play live - you could never tell what could happen!

The trip is from the middle of May to the third week or so of June - five weeks away in total. It'll be five weeks with little or no computer access, but that's ok because I'll be making up for it well and truly when I get back.

Apart from a few other personal things, that's how my 2009 is looking from here. Busy, fun, scary, and NEW. And I think that's the most awesome feeling.

P.S. I know I said I'd be having a massive feature-fest this journal, but I'm gonna choose my features very carefully inbetween now and next journal - it'll be my best of the best 17 in my brand-spanking-new features box.

And 7 cook books? Wow that's a lot! I'd be very grumpy if my parents got me cook books...i hate cooking
I preferred to keep to the plan of marrying a guy that can cook. Much easier to deal with.
