Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Guys, I'm in such a bittersweet mood right now. I'm ecstatic that this journal design was the winner of ~whttigrluvr's contest, but THIS WAS THE ONLY ENTRY. Do you know what that means? While I am now the proud owner of a new dA shirt, a Fella plushie, 2 years and 7 months worth of dA subs plus some wicked features, I shouldn't be the person who won it all.

My point is this - just because a lesser-known deviant hosts a contest, that doesn't mean to say that there aren't some hella awesome prizes that can be won. Seriously, LOOK AT THAT LIST!

I honestly have so much praise for ~whttigrluvr right now - unlike most contests that only have one or two entries and prizes are withdrawn, he's decided to award them anyway. Thankyou so much for this hun, I really do appreciate it.

Now, the way that I found out about this contest was through `ginkgografix's journal, then through #eCSSited's contest page.

Is it that people don't have time to create entries for contests right now? Or that there wasn't enough time given>? Or is it just that a lesser-known deviant was holding it... There wasn't enough interest, and I don't know, it's actually kinda disappointing.

PLEASE don't get me wrong. I am so very thankful that things have turned out well, but I would have loved to have not been the only person who entered this. I've posted a poll here to suss out what you guys think of lack of contest entries: [link]. If you have time to vote, or even leave a comment expanding a bit, I'd really appreciate it.

Anyway, in happier news, I shall post a photo of my awesome new Fella and shirt when I receive them.

I think I'd have to give dimensions and a drawing of exactly where those shapes would go... like a template of sorts.
